Ans: The poet wanted to highlight degradation of human nature. The poet says that even when we are the children of Mother nature, we have gone against the natural spirits. The humans have created divisions on the basis of religion, colour, race, caste, etc. Men have built walls and waged wars. This is how human society has degraded.
