=Hari and Moti are the two bullocks who belonged to Jhuri, the vegetable farmer.

According to me they were not spoiled but were pampered and kept with extra care. They both lived together for a long time and became worn brothers. They lived out of friendship and with a good sense of humour working and giving their best as much as possible.      

c)Who were those people? Why were the bullocks sent to them?

=Those people were Jhuri’s father-in-law.

The two bullocks were sent to his father-in-law’s house to work for them.

d)Why did the bullocks run away from those people?

=Hari and Moti were not at all happy to leave Jhuri. In the evening the two bullocks reached their new place, hungry after a whole day without food, but when they were brought to the manger, neither so much as stuck his mouth in. Their hearts were heavy; they were separated from the home they had thought was their own. The new house, new village, and new people, all seemed alien to them. They consulted in their mute language, glancing at one another out of the corners of their eyes, and when the village was deep in sleep the two of them pulled hard, broke, they were together and set out for home.

2. The girl suddenly yelled, ’Father, come quick. Uncle bullocks are running away.’

=The small girl was Bharo’s daughter.

=At night when the girl had fed them and gone off the two buffaloes began to gnaw their ropes, but the thick cord wouldn’t fit in their mouths. Suddenly the door of the house opened and when the girl came out, the bullocks lowered their heads and began to lick her hand. Their tails stood up while she stroked their foreheads, and then she said that she was going to let them go. She asked them to be very quiet and run away or these people or else they will kill them. She told them that in the house they were talking about putting rings in their noses. She untied the rope so that they could run away even after knowing that everybody in the house would suspect her.

c)Why was the girl kind to the bullocks?

=The girl had been kind to bullocks and helped them run away from Gaya’s house in vain as they won’t survive there. She asked them to be very quiet and run away or these people will kill them. She also yelled, ‘Uncle’s bullocks are running away! Daddy, daddy, come quick, they’re running away!’ so that no one in the house will suspect her.
